Yaz/Yasmin Birth Control Reviews
Some women who have taken Yaz or Yasmin birth control pills have written reviews about their experience with the pills. The reviews are mixed.
Yaz Birth Control Reviews
While some women rave about Yaz, stating that they experienced little or no side effects while on the pill, others were not so positive. In fact, several women have contacted the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), reporting that they sustained severe injuries from the birth control pill.
Yaz, Yasmin Reviews for Side Effects
Regardless of the effectiveness of Yaz and Yasmin contraceptive pills, negative reviews for these medications have involved reports that they are causing some women to develop:
- Blood clots
- Breast lumps
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), blood clots in the body's deep veins that impair healthy circulation
- Gallbladder disease
- Heart attack
- Hyperkalemia, excessive and harmful levels of potassium in the blood
- Kidney disease
- Liver damage
- Pulmonary embolism (PE), life-threatening blood clots in the lungs
While hundreds of women have filed reports with the FDA regarding such serious Yaz side effects, as of October 2009, 129 of these injured women had filed lawsuits against Bayer HealthCare, seeking damages.
Yasmin Reviews and Ratings
Like Yaz, hundreds of women have rated their experience with Yasmin and have posted reviews to various websites. The reviews are similar: some women say they love using Yasmin, claiming that it helped clear up their acne, balance out their menstrual cycles and more. Other women, on the other hand, say they weren’t so lucky with Yasmin. Negative reviews include complaints of negative side effects including depression-like symptoms, a decreases in sex drive, severe mood swings and yeast infections.
